Bridge on Powell Alert for Construction

All Residents of the Crossings,

We received the following email from Cranberry Twp.

HOA Board

-------------------

Good afternoon.

County officials have determined that an October 6 accident in which an SUV heading west on Powell Road struck the eastbound side of the bridge over Brush Creek, has created a safety concern for motorists using the bridge.  Accordingly, while the bridge will remain open to all forms of traffic, it will be narrowed to a single 14-foot lane with stop signs posted at either end.  Vehicles will take turns moving in each direction.  The current weight restriction remains unchanged.   Jersey (concrete) barriers will be erected by Cranberry’s Public Works Department next week to form the single lane, weather permitting.  The lane restriction will remain in place until PennDOT’s replacement bridge project begins.  At which time the road will be closed at the bridge to all through traffic.  The New bridge is expected to opened to traffic later this year.  Please pass this information along to your residents.  Thank you.

P.S. Watch for schedule updates on PennDOT’s Powell Road bridge replacement project.
