Annual Holiday Luminaries
Annual Holiday Luminaries
It’s time to place your orders for our annual luminary night to be held on Sunday, Dec. 16th starting at 5:30pm. For those new to our neighborhood, this is a beautiful tradition for the residents in our plan and the surrounding area. Luminary night started in 1989 and in order to continue this unique Crossings tradition, we ask for your participation. December is a very busy month, but please consider purchasing luminaries and reaching out to a neighbor for assistance in placing or lighting them if you will not be home.
Other Luminary Night Festivities:
Traditionally, there have been festivities held at the Phase 1 pavilion. A coordinator arranges for Santa to drive around the neighborhood on a fire truck, then proceed to Phase 1 where the children can chat, get a pre-bought gift and have a few snacks. As of this writing we do not have a volunteer to arrange the Phase 1 snacks, gifts...etc . We are looking for a neighbor willing to put together this event or the tradition will not take place this year. The opportunity exists for families with younger children to arrange a special neighborhood event with Santa, be creative and put together a magical time for your kids. In the past Santa actually hand delivered presents to kids at home on luminary night –what a surprise that can be! I believe we have a Santa lined up but he has nowhere to go. Please call me if you are interested (724-779-4984).
Many neighbors use this evening to walk the neighborhood, carol and host Holiday parties so your participation is greatly appreciated.
